Recipe Questions

Are your boxes suitable for my weaning baby?

Yes! Our boxes are suitable for babies that have already done the puree stage of weaning and have tried all the allergens.

None of our recipes contain salt, we suggest that if you would like to season your adult portion that you do so once you have completed the cooking process and have set aside a portion/portions for your little one.

We also give advice on the back of our recipe cards on how to serve the meal for your baby depending on whether you prefer to mash or chop their food or you are following baby-led weaning.

Can you cater for food allergies or intolerances?

OUR RECIPE BOXES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH NUT, EGG, DAIRY OR GLUTEN ALLERGIES

Unfortunately as we are a small business, we cannot cater for any food allergies or intolerances at this stage.

Make sure you have tested your child with all known allergens before ordering a box.

If you or your child/children has any allergies or food intolerances then please do not order the box.

Are your recipes nut free?

We are not able to cater for any nut allergy.

Some of our recipes contain nuts and we do not pack in a nut free environment.

If you or your child/children or anyone in your family are allergic to nuts, please do not order this box.

Is all the produce organic?

Most of our fruit and veg is from organic suppliers, we may have the odd ingredient that is not available as organic but we will let you know on the recipe card.

Our meat is free range, high welfare and grass reared.

Our spices are not organic however you will be using very small amounts in the recipes.

The dairy for the children’s portions are organic, we may have a grown-up only cheese that is not organic but we will let you know on the recipe cards.

Can I choose my recipes?

At the moment we don’t offer a choice of recipes. We are a small mum-run business and we aim to offer a choice once we start to grow.

In the meantime, let us save you the time and hassle by sending you 3 delicious recipes every fortnight without you having to think about it!

Do the recipes change each week?

Yes, we send you 3 completely different recipes each fortnight that Alice (co-founder) has designed and tested.

Alice has 15 years experienced in recipe development for brands including Ella’s Kitchen and Pret a Manger.

Won’t my adult portion taste really bland?

No! Our recipes are packed full of flavour for both little and big people.

If we think the recipe could use an extra something then we’ll add some chillies or a special ‘grown-up only’ sauce for you to use on your adult portion.

You can also add salt and pepper to your adult meal if you choose.

Do you have a vegan box option?

Unfortunately we do not have a vegan box option at the moment.

Delivery Questions

When do you deliver?

We deliver every fortnight on a Tuesday for South London and Wednesday for the rest of the UK. Our checkout page shows the next delivery date.

Don’t worry if you are out when your box arrives as the chilled produce is kept at the right temperature with insulation and frozen gel packs.

When will I receive my first box?

Your first box will arrive on our next Tuesday/Wednesday date after you have completed your order.

If you order on a Friday you will receive your box on the following delivery date as we won’t have enough time to prepare your box.

What if I don’t receive my box?

Please contact us on hello@pickleandsquash.com with the subject line ‘Missing Delivery’ so we can investigate.

Subscription Questions

When will I be charged for my box?

Your first payment will be taken immediately, regardless of when the box is due to be delivered.

For subsequent deliveries you will be charged on the Friday before the box delivery.

What if I am going away and want to skip one or more boxes?

You can manage your subscription by logging into your account.

Click on ‘Your Subscription’ to find the pause button.

Simply reactivate your subscription when you are ready.

How do I cancel my recipe box subscription?

You can manage your subscription by logging into your account

Click on ‘Your Subscription’ to find the cancel button.

Please note, you can’t cancel your subscription 2 days before your delivery date as we will already have placed orders with suppliers by then.
